ಸುಂದರಕಾಂಡ.
ಅಥ ಸಪ್ತಚತ್ತ್ವಾರಿಂಶಸ್ಸರ್ಗಃ||

" ಚಕಾರ ರಕ್ಷೋಧಿಪತೇರ್ಮಹತ್ ಭಯಮ್"
Means that a great fear arose in the mind of the Rakshasa King.
In the forty sixth Sarga we heard about the doubts in Ravana's mind.
Now the doubts have moved to the next stage, fear.
We will see how that fear arose in this Sarga.

||Sloka 47.01||

ಸೇನಾಪತೀನ್ ಪಂಚ ಸ ತು ಪ್ರಮಾಪಿತಾನ್
ಹನುಮತಾ ಸಾನುಚರಾನ್ ಸವಾಹನಾನ್|
ಸಮೀಕ್ಷ್ಯ ರಾಜಾ ಸಮರೋದ್ಧತೋನ್ಮುಖಂ
ಕುಮಾರಮಕ್ಷಂ ಪ್ರಸಮೈಕ್ಷತಾಗ್ರತಃ||47.01||

ಸ||ಪಂಚ ಸೇನಾಪತೀನ್ ಸ ಅನುಚರಾನ್ ಸ ವಾಹನಾನ್ ಪ್ರಮಾಪಿತಾನ್ ಸಮೀಕ್ಷ್ಯ ರಾಜಾ ಸಮರೋದ್ಧತಃ ಉನ್ಮುಖಂ ಕುಮಾರಂ ಅಕ್ಷಂ ಅಗ್ರತಃ ಪ್ರಸಮೈಕ್ಷತ||

"Seeing that the five generals along with the followers and their vehicles were destroyed , the kings eyes fell on the prince Aksha who is in the front and who is excited to take up the battle." ||47.01||

ಸ ತಸ್ಯ ದೃಷ್ಟ್ಯರ್ಪಣಸಂಪ್ರಚೋದಿತಃ
ಪ್ರತಾಪವಾನ್ ಕಾಂಚನ ಚಿತ್ರಕಾರ್ಮುಕಃ|
ಸಮುತ್ಪಪಾತಾಥ ಸದಸ್ಯುದೀರಿತೋ
ದ್ವಿಜಾತಿಮುಖ್ಯೈರ್ಹವಿಷೇವ ಪಾವಕಃ||47.02||

ಸ|| ಅಥ ತಸ್ಯ ದೃಷ್ಟ್ಯರ್ಪಣ ಸಂಪ್ರಚೋದಿತಃ ಪ್ರತಾಪವಾನ್ ಕಾಂಚನ ಚಿತ್ರಕಾರ್ಮುಖಃ ಸದಸಿ ದ್ವಿಜಾತಿ ಮುಖ್ಯೈಃ ಹವಿಷಾಉದೀರಿತಃ ಪಾವಕಃ ಇವ ಸಮುತ್ಪಪಾತ||

"Then spurred by the glance ( of the king) the glorious hero, holding a marvelous bow inlaid with gold sprang up in that royal assembly like the fire kindled by the reputed Brahmins." ||47.02||

ತತೋ ಮಹದ್ಬಾಲದಿವಾಕರಪ್ರಭಮ್
ಪ್ರತಪ್ತ ಜಾಂಬೂನದಜಾಲಸಂತತಮ್|
ರಥಂ ಸಮಾಸ್ಥಾಯ ಯಯೌ ಸ ವೀರ್ಯವಾನ್
ಮಹಾಹರಿಂ ತಂ ಪ್ರತಿ ನೈರೃತರ್ಷಭಃ||47.03||

ಸ|| ತತಃ ವೀರ್ಯವಾನ್ ನೈರೃತರ್ಷಭಃ ಮಹತ್ ಬಾಲದಿವಾಕರಪ್ರಭಂ ಪ್ರತಪ್ತ ಜಾಂಬೂನದ ಜಾಲಸಂತತಂ ರಥಂ ಸಮಾಸ್ಥಾಯ ಸ ಮಹಹರಿಂ ಪ್ರತಿ ಯಯೌ ||

"Then that hero, a bull among giants, splendid like the Sun in his infancy, having ascended a chariot glittering like piece of pure gold, marched towards the great Vanara." ||47.03||

ತತಸ್ತಪಃ ಸಂಗ್ರಹ ಸಂಚಯಾರ್ಜಿತಮ್
ಪ್ರತಪ್ತ ಜಾಂಬೂನದಜಾಲ ಶೋಭಿತಮ್|
ಪತಾಕಿನಂ ರತ್ನವಿಭೂಷಿತ ಧ್ವಜಮ್
ಮನೋಜವಾಷ್ಟಾಶ್ವವರೈಃ ಸುಯೋಜಿತಮ್||47.04||

ಸ|| ತತಃ ತಪಃಸಂಗ್ರಹಃ ಸಂಚಯಾರ್ಜಿತಂ ಪ್ರತಪ್ತ ಜಾಂಬೂನದಜಾಲಶೋಭಿತಂ ಪತಾಕಿನಂ ರತ್ನವಿಭೂಷಿತ ಧ್ವಜಮ್ ಮನೋಜವಾ ಅಷ್ಟ ವರೈಃ ಅಶ್ವೈಃ ಸುಯೋಜಿತಂ ||

"That chariot gained by austerities of highest order, overlaid with pure gold armor, fitted with flags and staff studded with precious gems, was yoked with eight best horses having the speed of mind." ||47.04||

ಸುರಾಸುರಾಧೃಷ್ಯ ಮಸಂಗಚಾರಿಣಂ
ರವಿಪ್ರಭಂ ವ್ಯೋಮಚರಂ ಸಮಾಹಿತಮ್|
ಸತೂಣಮಷ್ಟಾಸಿನಿಬದ್ಧಬಂಧುರಮ್
ಯಥಾಕ್ರಮಾವೇಶಿತ ಶಕ್ತಿತೋಮರಮ್||47.05||

ಸ|| ಸುರಾಸುರಾಧೃಷ್ಯಂ ಅಸಂಗಚಾರಿಣಂ ರವಿಪ್ರಭಂ ವ್ಯೋಮಚರಂ ಸತೂಣಂ ಸಮಾಹಿತಂ ಅಷ್ಟಾಸಿ ನಿಬದ್ಧಬಂಧುರಂ ಯಥಾಕ್ರಮಾವೇಶಿತಶಕ್ತಿತೋಮರಂ||

"The chariot which was unassailable by Suras and Asuras alike, moved without touching the ground, with the splendor of the Sun, and could fly in the sky. It is equipped with quivers eight swords. javelins and clubs placed in right place and order." ||47.05||

||Sloka 47.06||

ವಿರಾಜಮಾನಂ ಪ್ರತಿಪೂರ್ಣ ವಸ್ತುನಾ
ಸಹೇಮದಾಮ್ನಾ ಶಶಿಸೂರ್ಯವರ್ಚಸಾ|
ದಿವಾಕರಾಭಂ ರಥಮಾಸ್ಥಿತಃ ತತಃ
ಸ ನಿರ್ಜಗಾಮಾಮರತುಲ್ಯವಿಕ್ರಮಃ||47.06||

ಸ||ತತಃ ಅಮರತುಲ್ಯವಿಕ್ರಮಃ ವಿರಾಜಮಾನಂ ಸಃ ಸಹೇಮದಾಮ್ನಾ ಶಶಿಸೂರ್ಯ ವರ್ಚಸಾ ಪ್ರತಿಪೂರ್ಣವಸ್ತುನಾ ವಿರಾಜಮಾನಂ ದಿವಾಕರಾಭಂ ರಥಂ ಆಸ್ಥಿತಃ ನಿರ್ಜಗಾಮ||

"Then the one who is equal to gods in courage, wearing a golden garland, bright like Sun and Moon, equipped with all weapons, glowing and shining like the Sun, ascended the chariot and went." ||47.06||

||Sloka 47.07||

ಸ ಪೂರಯನ್ ಖಂ ಮಹೀಂ ಚ ಸಾಚಲಾಮ್
ತುರಂಗಮಾತಂಗ ಮಹಾರಥಸ್ವನೈಃ|
ಬಲೈಃ ಸಮೇತೈಃ ಸ ಹಿ ತೋರಣಸ್ಥಿತಮ್
ಸಮರ್ಥ ಮಾಸೀನಮುಪಾಗಮತ್ ಕಪಿಮ್||47.07||

ಸ||ಸಃ ತುರಂಗ ಮಾತಂಗ ಮಹಾರಥಸ್ವನೈಃ ಖಂ ಮಹೀಂ ಚ ಸ ಅಚಲಾಂ ಪೂರಯನ್ ಸಮೇತೈಃ ಬಲೈಃ ಸಹ ತೋರಣಸ್ಥಂ ಸಮರ್ಥಂ ಆಸೀನಂ ಕಪಿಂ ಉಪಾಗಮತ್||

"With the sounds of horses, elephants and the chariot filling the sky, the earth and the mountains, he along with army reached the very capable Vanara seated on the archway."||47.07||

||Sloka 47.08||

ಸ ತಂ ಸಮಾಸಾದ್ಯ ಹರಿಂ ಹರೀಕ್ಷಣೋ
ಯುಗಾಂತಕಾಲಾಗ್ನಿಮಿವ ಪ್ರಜಾಕ್ಷಯೇ|
ಅವಸ್ಥಿತಂ ವಿಸ್ಮಿತಜಾತಸಂಭ್ರಮಃ
ಸಮೈಕ್ಷತಾಕ್ಷೋ ಬಹುಮಾನಚಕ್ಷುಸಾ||47.08||

ಸ|| ಸಃ ಹರೀಕ್ಷಣಃ ಅಕ್ಷಃ ಪ್ರಜಾಕ್ಷಯೇ ಯುಗಾಂತಕಾಲಗ್ನಿಂ ಇವ ಅವಸ್ಥಿತಂ ತಂ ಹರಿಂ ಸಮಾಸಾದ್ಯ ವಿಸ್ಮಿತಜಾತ ಸಂಭ್ರಮಃ ಬಹುಮಾನ ಚಕ್ಷುಸಾ ಸಮೈಕ್ಷತ ||

"Aksha , who had the eyes like that of a lion, reached the Vanara who appeared like the fire at the time of dissolution. Astonished and awe struck he looked at him with great respect".||47.08||

||Sloka 47.09||

ಸ ತಸ್ಯವೇಗಂ ಚ ಕಪೇರ್ಮಹಾತ್ಮನಃ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಂ ಚಾರಿಷು ಪಾರ್ಥಿವಾತ್ಮಜಃ|
ವಿಚಾರಯನ್ ಸ್ವಂ ಚ ಬಲಂ ಮಹಾಬಲೋ ಹಿಮಕ್ಷಯೇ ಸೂರ್ಯ ಇವಾsಭಿವರ್ಧತೇ||47.09||

ಸ|| ಮಹಾಬಲಃ ಪಾರ್ಥಿವಾತ್ಮಜಃ ಮಹಾತ್ಮನಃ ತಸ್ಯ ಕಪೇಃ ವೇಗಂ ಚ ಅರಿಷು ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಂ ಚ ಸ್ವಂ ಬಲಂ ಚ ವಿಚಾರಯನ್ ಹಿಮಕ್ಷಯೇ ಸೂರ್ಯ ಇವ ಅಭಿವರ್ಧತೇ||

"The powerful son of the king judging the speed and prowess of the Vanara and his own strength, began to grow like the Sun at the end of the winter." ||47.09||

||Sloka 47.10||

ಸ ಜಾತಮನ್ಯುಃ ಪ್ರಸಮೀಕ್ಷ್ಯ ವಿಕ್ರಮಂ
ಸ್ಥಿರಂ ಸ್ಥಿತಃ ಸಂಯತಿ ದುರ್ನಿವಾರಣಮ್|
ಸಮಾಹಿತಾತ್ಮಾ ಹನುಮಂತಮಾಹವೇ
ಪ್ರಚೋದಯಾಮಾಸ ಶರೈಸ್ತ್ರಿಭಿಶ್ಶಿತೈಃ||47.10||

ಸ|| ಸಂಯತಿ ದುರ್ನಿವಾರಣಂ ಸ್ಥಿರಂ ವಿಕ್ರಮಂ ಪ್ರಸಮೀಕ್ಷ್ಯ ಸಃ( ಅಕ್ಷುಃ) ಜಾತಮನ್ಯುಃ ಸ್ಥಿರಃ ಸಮಾಹಿತಾತ್ಮಾ ಹನುಮಂತಂ ಶಿತೈಃ ತ್ರಿಭಿಃ ಶರೈಃ ಆಹವೇ ಪ್ರಚೋದಯಾಮಾಸ||

"He became angry recognizing Hanuman who is irresistible in war, steady, valorous. He attacked him with sharp arrows to his head in the battle."

||Sloka 47.11||

ತತಃ ಕಪಿಂ ತಂ ಪ್ರಸಮೀಕ್ಷ್ಯ ಗರ್ವಿತಮ್ ಜಿತಶ್ರಮಂ ಶತ್ರುಪರಾಜಯೋರ್ಜಿತಮ್|
ಅವೈಕ್ಷತಾಕ್ಷಃ ಸಮುದೀರ್ಣಮಾನಸಃ ಸ ಬಾಣಪಾಣಿಃ ಪ್ರಗೃಹೀತಕಾರ್ಮುಕಃ||47.11||

ಸ|| ತತಃ ಸಃ ಅಕ್ಷಃ ಗರ್ವಿತಂ ಶತ್ರುಪರಾಜಯೋರ್ಜಿತಮ್ ತಂ ಕಪಿಂ ಜಿತಶ್ರಮಂ ಪ್ರಸಮೀಕ್ಷ್ಯ ಬಾಣಪಾಣಿಃ ಪ್ರಗೃಹೀತಕಾರ್ಮುಕಃ ಸಮುದೀರ್ಣಮಾನಸಃ ಅವೈಕ್ಷತ||

"Then the prince Aksha holding the bow and arrows in his hand, and with increased excitement to fight, looked at Hanuman who is with pride of intent to conquer enemies, who conquered fatigue, and reflected in his mind ."||47.11||

ಸ ಹೇಮ ನಿಷ್ಕಾಂಗದ ಚಾರುಕುಂಡಲಃ ಸಮಾಸಸಾದಾಶು ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಃ ಕಪಿಮ್|
ತಯೋರ್ಬಭೂವಾಪ್ರತಿಮಃ ಸಮಾಗಮಃ ಸುರಾಸುರಾಣಾಮಪಿ ಸಂಭ್ರಮಪ್ರದಃ||47.12||

ಸ|| ಅಶು ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಃ ಹೇಮನಿಷ್ಕಾಂಗದ ಚಾರುಕುಂಡಲಃ ಸಃ ಕಪಿಂ ಸಮಾಸಾದ | ತಯೋಃ ಅಪ್ರತಿಮಃ ಸಂಗಮಃ ಸುರಃ ಅಸುರಾಣಾಂ ಅಪಿ ಸಂಭ್ರಮಪ್ರದಃ ಅಭೂತ್ ||

"The energetic hero wearing golden armlets and ear rings reached the Vanara. Their unmatched battle has all the Suras and Asuras in awe."

ರರಾಸ ಭೂಮಿರ್ನತತಾಪ ಭಾನುಮಾನ್
ವವೌ ನ ವಾಯುಃ ಪ್ರಚಚಾಲ ಚಾಚಲಃ|
ಕಪೇಃ ಕುಮಾರಸ್ಯ ಚ ವೀಕ್ಷ್ಯ ಸಂಯುಗಮ್
ನನಾದ ಚ ದ್ಯೌರುದಧಿಶ್ಚ ಚುಕ್ಷುಭೇ||47.13||

ಸ|| ಕಪೇಃ ಕುಮಾರಸ್ಯ ಚ ಸಂಯುಗಂ ವೀಕ್ಷ್ಯ ಭೂಮಿಃ ರರಾಸ | ಭಾನುಮಾನ್ ನತತಾಪ| ವಾಯುಃ ನ ವವೌ| ಅಚಲಃ ಚ ಪ್ರಚಚಾಲ | ದ್ಯೌಃ ಉದಧಿಶ್ಚ ಚುಕ್ಷುಭೇ||

"Seeing the battle of the Vanara and the prince, the earth shook. Sun did not shine. Wind did not move. Immovables shook. The sky and the oceans felt agitated."||47.13||

ತತಃ ಸವೀರಃ ಸುಮುಖಾನ್ ಪತತ್ರಿಣಃ
ಸುವರ್ಣಪುಂಖಾನ್ ಸವಿಷಾ ನಿವೋರಗಾನ್|
ಸಮಾಧಿಸಂಯೋಗ ವಿಮೋಕ್ಷತತ್ತ್ವವಿತ್
ಶರಾನಥತ್ರೀನ್ ಕಪಿಮೂರ್ಧ್ನಪಾತಯತ್||47.14||

ಸ|| ತತಃ ಅಥ ವೀರಃ ಸಮಾಧಿಸಂಯೋಗವಿಮೋಕ್ಷತತ್ತ್ವವಿತ್ ಸಃ ಸುಮುಖಾನ್ ಸುವರ್ಣಪುಂಖಾನ್ ಪತತ್ರಿಣಃ ಸವಿಷಾನ್ ಉರಗಾನ್ ಇವ ತ್ರೀನ್ ಶರಾನ್ ಕಪಿಮೂರ್ಧ್ನಿ ಅಪಾತಯತ್ ||

"The hero good at targeting and releasing with good concentration, struck Vanara on the head with three good looking golden shafted winged arrows, smeared with poison like serpents." ||47.14||

ಸ ತೈಃ ಶರೈರ್ಮೂರ್ಥ್ನಿ ಸಮಂ ನಿಪಾತಿತೈಃ
ಕ್ಷರನ್ನಸೃದ್ದಿಗ್ಧ ವಿವೃತ್ತಲೋಚನಃ|
ನವೋದಿತಾದಿತ್ಯನಿಭಃ ಶರಾಂಶುಮಾನ್
ವ್ಯರಾಜತಾದಿತ್ಯ ಇವಾಂಶುಮಾಲಿಕಃ||47.15||

ಸ|| ಸಮಂ ಮೂರ್ಧ್ನಿ ನಿಪಾತಿತೈಃ ತೈಃ ಶರೈಃ ಕ್ಷರನ್ ಅಸೃಗ್ಧಿತವಿವೃತ್ತಲೋಚನಃ ನವೋದಿತಾದಿತ್ಯನಿಭಃ ಶರಾಂಶುಮಾನ್ ಸಃ ಅಂಶುಮಾಲಿಕಃ ಆದಿತ್ಯ ಇವ ವ್ಯರಾಜತ||

"Hanuman simultaneously shot at the head by those arrows, his eyes were wetted by the red blood flowing down . He was looking like a newly risen Sun. The arrows appeared like his rays. Garlanded with rays he glowed like the Sun." ||47.15||

ತತಃ ಸ ಪಿಂಗಾಧಿಪಮಂತ್ರಿಸತ್ತಮಃ
ಸಮೀಕ್ಷ್ಯ ತಂ ರಾಜವರಾತ್ಮಜಂ ರಣೇ|
ಉದಗ್ರ ಚಿತ್ರಾಯುಧ ಚಿತ್ರಕಾರ್ಮುಕಮ್
ಜಹರ್ಷ ಚಾಪೂರ್ಯ ಚಾಹವೋನ್ಮುಖಃ||47.16||

ಸ|| ತತಃ ಸಃ ಪಿಂಗಾಧಿಪಮಂತ್ರಿಸತ್ತಮಃ ಉದಗ್ರ ಚಿತ್ರಾಯುಧ ಕಾರ್ಮುಕಂ ತಂ ರಾಜವರಾತ್ಮಜಂ ಸಮೀಕ್ಷ್ಯ ಅಹವಃ ಉನ್ಮುಖಃ ಅಪೂರ್ಯತ ಚ ||

"Hanuman, the esteemed minister of the coppery eyed Sugriva, seeing the prince holding many splendid weapons, rejoiced and made necessary preparations ready for the battle." ||47.16||

||Sloka 47.17||

ಸ ಮಂದರಾಗ್ರಸ್ಥ ಮಿವಾಂಶುಮಾಲಿಕೋ
ವಿವೃದ್ಧಕೋಪಾ ಬಲವೀರ್ಯಸಂಯುತಃ|
ಕುಮಾರಮಕ್ಷಂ ಸಬಲಂ ಸ ವಾಹನಮ್
ದದಾಹ ನೇತ್ರಾಗ್ನಿ ಮರೀಚಿಭಿಸ್ತದಾ||47.17||

ಸ|| ಮಂದರಾಗ್ರಸ್ಥಃ ಇವ ಬಲವೀರ್ಯಸಂಯುತಃ ಸಃ ವಿವೃದ್ಧಕೋಪಃ ಸಬಲಂ ಸವಾಹನಂ ಕುಮಾರಂ ಅಕ್ಷಂ ತದಾ ನೇತ್ರಾಗ್ನಿಮರೀಚಿಭಿಃ ದದಾಹ||

"Like the one sitting on the mount Mandara, endowed with strength and valor his anger increased. He looked at the prince along with his army and the vehicles, and it seemed like the fiery rays emerging from his eyes were burning them away." ||47.17||

ತತಸ್ಸ ಬಾಣಾಸನ ಚಿತ್ರಕಾರ್ಮುಕಃ
ಶರ ಪ್ರವರ್ಷೋ ಯುಧಿ ರಾಕ್ಷಸಾಂಬುದಃ|
ಶರಾನ್ ಮುಮೋಚಾಶು ಹರೀಶ್ವರಾಚಲೇ
ವಲಾಹಕೋ ವೃಷ್ಟಿ ಮಿವಾsಚಲೋತ್ತಮೇ||47.18||

ಸ|| ತತಃ ಬಾಣಾಸನ ಚಿತ್ರಕಾರ್ಮುಕಃ ಶರಪ್ರವರ್ಷಃ ಸಃ ರಾಕ್ಷಸಾಂಬುದಃ ಯುಧಿ ಆಶು ಹರೀಶ್ವರಾಚಲೇ ವಲಾಹಕಃ ಅಚಲೋತ್ತಮೇ ವೃಷ್ಟಿಂ ಇವ ಶರಾನ್ ಮುಮೋಚ||

"Then Aksha endowed with a quiver and wonderful bow began to rapidly rain a shower of arrows on Hanuman who was like a mountain, like the rainy clouds releasing the rain on the mountains." ||47.18||

ತತಃ ಕಪಿಸ್ತಂ ರಣಚಂಡವಿಕ್ರಮಮ್
ವಿರುದ್ಧತೇಜೋ ಬಲವೀರ್ಯಸಂಯುತಮ್|
ಕುಮಾರಮಕ್ಷಂ ಪ್ರಸಮೀಕ್ಷ್ಯ ಸಂಯುಗೇ
ನನಾದ ಹರ್ಷಾತ್ ಘನತುಲ್ಯವಿಕ್ರಮಃ||47.19||

ಸ|| ತತಃ ಕಪಿಃ ರಣಚಂಡವಿಕ್ರಮಮ್ ವಿರುದ್ಧತೇಜೋಬಲವೀರ್ಯ ಸಂಯುತಂ ಘನತುಲ್ಯವಿಕ್ರಮಮ್ ತಂ ಕುಮಾರಂ ಅಕ್ಷಂ ಪ್ರಸಮೀಕ್ಷ್ಯ ಹರ್ಷಾತ್ ನನಾದ||

"Then seeing Aksha with fierce valor, endowed with excessive splendor , power and energy , and valor equal to a cloud, Hanuman roared happily."||47.19||

ಸ ಬಾಲಭಾವಾದ್ಯುಧಿ ವೀರ್ಯದರ್ಪಿತಃ
ಪ್ರವೃತ್ತಮನ್ಯುಃ ಕ್ಷತಜೋಪಮೇಕ್ಷಣಃ|
ಸಮಾಸಸಾದಾಪ್ರತಿಮಂ ಕಪಿಂ ರಣೇ
ಗಜೋ ಮಹಾಕೂಪಮಿವಾವೃತಂ ತೃಣೈಃ||47.20||

"Young Aksha proud of his valor, with eyes red with anger rushed towards the matchless Hanuman like an elephant would approach a huge pit covered with grass."||47.20||

"Struck by the arrows released by the prince Aksha, Hanuman roared violently like thundering cloud, and leaped to the sky putting up a fierce appearance stretching his arms and legs"||47.21||

ಸ|| ಬಲೀ ರಾಕ್ಷಸಾನಾಂ ಪ್ರವರಃ ಪ್ರತಾಪವಾನ್ ರಥೀ ರಥಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠತಮಃ ಸಃ ಪಯೋಧರಃ ಅಶ್ಮವೃಷ್ಟಿಭಿಃ ಶೈಲಂ ಇವ ಶರೈಃ ಕಿರಣ್ ಉತ್ಪತಂತಂ ಸಮಭಿದ್ರವತ್ ||

"The powerful leader of the Rakshasas, the best warrior mounted on a chariot, went chasing Hanuman flying high, showering arrows on him like a cloud showering hailstones on a mountain." ||47.22||

ಸ ತಾನ್ ಶರಾಂ ಸ್ತಸ್ಯ ಹರಿರ್ವಿಮೋಕ್ಷಯನ್ ಚಚಾರ ವೀರಃ ಪಥಿ ವಾಯು ಸೇವಿತೇ|
ಶರಾಂತರೇ ಮಾರುತವದ್ವಿನಿಷ್ಪತನ್ ಮನೋಜನಃ ಸಂಯತಿ ಚಂಡವಿಕ್ರಮಃ||47.23||

ಸ|| ಮನೋಜವಃ ಸಂಯತಿ ಚಂಡವಿಕ್ರಮಃ ವೀರಃ ಸಃ ಹರಿಃ ಮಾರುತವತ್ ವಿನಿಷ್ಪತನ್ ತಸ್ಯ ಶರಾನ್ ವಿಮೋಕ್ಷಯನ್ ವಾಯುಸೇವಿತೇ ಪಥಿ ಚಚಾರ||

"That Vanara who has the speed of mind , who had terrific valor in battle, moving about like wind, moved about in the sky, dodging his arrows; ". ||47.23||

ತ ಮಾತ್ತ ಬಾಣಾಸನ ಮಾಹವೋನ್ಮುಖಂ
ಖ ಮಾಸ್ತೃಣಂತಂ ನಿಶಿಖೈಃ ಶರೋತ್ತಮೈಃ|
ಅವೈಕ್ಷತಾಕ್ಷಂ ಬಹುಮಾನ ಚಕ್ಷುಸಾ
ಜಗಾಮ ಚಿಂತಾಂ ಚ ಸ ಮಾರುತಾತ್ಮಜಃ||47.24||

ಸ|| ಸ ಮಾರುತಾತ್ಮಜಃ ಆತ್ತಬಾಣಾಸನಂ ಅಹವೋನ್ಮುಖಂ ವಿಶಿಖೈಃ ಶರೋತ್ತಮೈಃ ಖಂ ಆಸ್ತೃಣಾಂತಂ ತಂ ಅಕ್ಷಂ ಬಹುಮಾನಚಕ್ಷುಸಾ ಅವೈಕ್ಷತ ಚಿಂತಾಂ ಚ ಜಗಾಮ||

"The son of wind god with admiring looks saw Aksha who was facing the battle holding the quiver with arrows and best of missiles, who was filling the sky with best of missiles , and started thinking." ||47.24||

ತತಃ ಶರೈರ್ಭಿನ್ನಭುಜಾಂತರಃ ಕಪಿಃ
ಕುಮಾರವೀರೇಣ ಮಹತ್ಮನಾ ನದನ್|
ಮಹಾಭುಜಃ ಕರ್ಮವಿಶೇಷತತ್ತ್ವವಿತ್
ವಿಚಿಂತಯಾಮಾಸ ರಣೇ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಮ್||47.25||

ಸ|| ತತಃ ಮಹಭುಜಃ ಕರ್ಮವಿಶೇಷತತ್ತ್ವವಿತ್ ಕಪಿಃ ಮಹಾತ್ಮನಾ ಕುಮಾರವೀರೇಣ ಭಿನ್ನಭುಜಾಂತರಃ ನದನ್ ರಣೇ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಂ ವಿಚಿಂತಯಾಮಾಸ||

"Then the Vanara with strong arms, who knew the propriety of special actions , having his arms injured by the young prince, roaring in the battle started thinking." ||47.25||

ಅಬಾಲವದ್ಬಾಲದಿವಾಕರ ಪ್ರಭಃ
ಕರೋತ್ಯಯಂ ಕರ್ಮ ಮಹಾನ್ ಮಹಾಬಲಃ|
ನ ಚಾಸ್ಯ ಸರ್ವಾಹವಕರ್ಮಶೋಭಿನಃ
ಪ್ರಮಾಪನೇ ಮೇ ಮತಿರತ್ರ ಜಾಯತೇ||26||

ಸ|| ಬಾಲದಿವಾಕರಪ್ರಭಃ ಮಹಾಬಲಃ ಅಯಂ ಅಬಾಲವತ್ ಮಹತ್ ಕರ್ಮ ಕರೋತಿ| ಅತ್ರ ಸರ್ವಾಹವಕರ್ಮಶೋಭಿನಃ ಅಸ್ಯ ಪ್ರಮಾಪಣೇ ಮೇ ಮತಿಃ ನ ಚ ಜಾಯತೇ||

"This mighty hero radiant as the young rising Sun, belying his age performs like a great one. He knows all means of fighting and my mind does not move towards cutting him down to size". ||47.26||

ಅಯಂ ಮಹಾತ್ಮಾ ಚ ಮಹಾಂಶ್ಚವೀರ್ಯತ

ಅಸಂಶಯಂ ಕರ್ಮಗುಣೋದಯಾದಯಂ

ಸ|| ಅಯಂ ಮಹಾತ್ಮಾ ಚ ವೀರ್ಯತಃ ಚ ಮಹಾನ್ ಸಮಾಹಿತಃ ಸಂಯುಗೇ ಅತಿಸಹಃ | ಅಯಂ ಅಸಂಶಯಮ್ ಕರ್ಮಗುಣೋದಯಾತ್ ಸನಾಗಯಕ್ಷೈಃ ಮುನಿಭಿಃ ಚ ಪೂಜಿತಃ||

"He is a great self. His valor is great. Focused in a fight he is highly tolerant. Without a doubt for his actions this hero is saluted by the Nagas, Yakshas and the sages." ||47.27||

ಪರಾಕ್ರಮೋತ್ಸಾಹವಿವೃದ್ಧಮಾನಸಃ
ಸಮೀಕ್ಷತೇ ಮಾಂ ಪ್ರಮುಖಾಗ್ರತಃ ಸ್ಥಿತಃ|
ಪರಾಕ್ರಮೋ ಹ್ಯಸ್ಯ ಮನಾಂಸಿ ಕಂಪಯೇತ್
ಸುರಾಸುರಾಣಾಮಪಿ ಶೀಘ್ರಗಾಮಿನಃ||47.28||

ಸ|| ಪರಾಕ್ರಮೋತ್ಸಾಹ ವಿವೃದ್ಧಮಾನಸಃ ಪ್ರಮುಖಾಗ್ರತಃ ಸ್ಥಿತಃ ಮಾಮ್ ಸಮೀಕ್ಷತೇ ಶೀಘ್ರಗಾಮಿನಃ ಅಸ್ಯ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಃ ಸುರಃ ಅಸುರಾಣಾಂ ಮನಾಂಸಿ ಅಪಿ ಪ್ರಕಂಪಯೇತ್ ||

"His mental horizon expanding with valor and power, standing before me, he dares to look into my eyes. Swift warrior his valor will shake the minds of even Suras and Asuras". ||47.28||

ನ ಖಲ್ವಯಂ ನಾಭಿಭವೇದುಪೇಕ್ಷಿತಃ
ಪರಾಕ್ರಮೋ ಹ್ಯಸ್ಯರಣೇವಿವರ್ಧತೇ|
ಪ್ರಮಾಪಣಂ ತ್ವೇವ ಮಮಾದ್ಯ ರೋಚತೇ
ನ ವರ್ಧಮಾನೋಗ್ನಿರುಪೇಕ್ಷಿತುಂ ಕ್ಷಮಃ||47.29||

ಸ|| ಅಯಂ ನ ಉಪೇಕ್ಷಿತಃ ನಾಭಿಭವೇತ್ ನ ಖಲು ರಣೇ ಅಸ್ಯ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಃ ವರ್ಧತೇ ಹಿ | ಅದ್ಯ ಪ್ರಮಾಪಣಂ ತ್ವೇವ ಮಮ ರೋಚತೇ | ವರ್ಧಮಾನಃ ಅಗ್ನಿಃ ಉಪೇಕ್ಷಿತುಂ ನ ಕ್ಷಮಃ||

"This man is not to be disregarded. He will not overtake me surely in the battle. But his valor is increasing. Killing him now is proper. A spreading fire cannot be neglected." ||47.29||

ಇತಿ ಪ್ರವೇಗಂ ತು ಪರಸ್ಯ ತರ್ಕಯನ್
ಸ್ವಕರ್ಮಯೋಗಂ ಚ ವಿಧಾಯ ವೀರ್ಯವಾನ್ |
ಚಕಾರವೇಗಂ ತು ಮಹಾಬಲಃ ತದಾ
ಮತಿಂ ಚ ಚಕ್ರೇಽಸ್ಯ ವಧೇ ಮಹಾಕಪಿಃ||47.30||

ಸ|| ವೀರ್ಯವಾನ್ ಮಹಾಬಲಃ ಮಹಾಕಪಿಃ ಇತಿ ಪರಸ್ಯ ಪ್ರವೇಗಂ ಚಿಂತಯನ್ ಸ್ವಕರ್ಮಯೋಗಂ ಚ ವಿಧಾಯ ತಥಾ ವೇಗಂ ಚಕಾರ| ಅಸ್ಯ ವಧೇ ಮತಿಂ ಚ ಚಕ್ರೇ||

"The heroic and mighty Vanara while thinking on the enemy's speed and his own course of action, then increased his speed and made up his mind to kill him".||47.30||

ಸ ತಸ್ಯ ತಾ ನಷ್ಟಹಯಾನ್ ಮಹಾಜವಾನ್
ಸಮಾಹಿತಾನ್ ಭಾರಸಹಾನ್ ವಿವರ್ತನೇ|
ಜಘಾನ ವೀರಃ ಪಥಿ ವಾಯುಸೇವಿತೇ
ತಲಪ್ರಹಾರೈಃ ಪವನಾತ್ಮಜಃ ಕಪಿಃ||47.31||

ಸ|| ವೀರಃ ಪವನಾತ್ಮಜಃ ಸಃ ಕಪಿಃ ವಾಯುಸೇವಿತೇ ಪಥಿ ಮಹಾಜವಾನ್ ಸಮಾಹಿತಾನ್ ನಿವರ್ತನೇ ಭಾರಸಹಾನ್ ತಾನ್ ಅಷ್ಟ ಹಯಾನ್ ತಲಪ್ರಹಾರೈಃ ಜಘಾನ||

" Vanara , the hero and son of wind god with his palm then hit the eight horses, which are travelling the path of wind, which are endowed with high speed, which are stable in turning around, and which could carry heavy loads." ||47.31||

ತತಃ ತಲೇನಾಭಿಹತೋ ಮಹಾರಥಃ
ಸ ತಸ್ಯ ಪಿಂಗಾಧಿಪಮಂತ್ರಿಸತ್ತಮಃ|
ಪ್ರಭಘ್ನನೀಡಃ ಪರಿಮುಕ್ತಕೂಬರಃ
ಪಪಾತ ಭೂಮೌ ಹತವಾಜಿರಂಬರಾತ್||47.32||

ಸ|| ತತಃ ತಲೇನ ಅಭಿಹಿತಃ ಪಿಂಗಾಧಿಪಮಂತ್ರಿನಿರ್ಜಿತಃ ತಸ್ಯ ಮಹಾರಥಃ ಪ್ರಭಘ್ನನೀಡಃ ಪರಿಮುಕ್ತಕೂಬರಃ ಹತವಾಜಿಭಿಃ ಅಂಬರಾತ್ ಭೂಮೌ ಪಪಾತ||

"Then with his palm, the minister of the coppery eyed Vanara king, hit his great chariot. With the interior seat broken and the wooden structure broken, and the horses killed, the chariot fell down on the ground."||47.32||

ಸ ತಂ ಪರಿತ್ಯಜ್ಯ ಮಹಾರಥೋ ರಥಂ
ಸ ಕಾರ್ಮುಕಃ ಖಡ್ಗಧರಃ ಖ ಮುತ್ಸಹನ್|
ತಪೋಭಿಯೋಗಾದೃಷಿರುಗ್ರವೀರ್ಯವಾನ್
ವಿಹಾಯ ದೇಹಂ ಮರುತಾಮಿವಾಲಯಮ್||47.33||

ಸ||ಮಹಾರಥ ಸಃ ರಥಂ ಪರಿತ್ಯಜ್ಯ ಸಕಾರ್ಮುಕಃ ಖಡ್ಗಧರಃ ಖಂ ಉತ್ಪತನ್ ಉಗ್ರವೀರ್ಯವಾನ್ ದೇಹಂ ವಿಹಾಯ ತಪೋಭಿಯೋಗಾತ್ ಮಾರುತಂ ಆಲಯಂ ಋಷಿಃ ಇವ||

"With bow in his hand and holding a sword, leaving his chariot, the great chariot warrior flew into the sky, like the sages with the power of penance climb the abode of Maruta leaving their body. " ||47.33||

||Sloka 47.34||

ತತಃ ಕಪಿಸ್ತಂ ಪ್ರಚರಂತಮಂಬರೇ
ಪತತ್ರಿ ರಾಜಾನಿಲಸಿದ್ಧಸೇವಿತೇ|
ಸಮೇತಯ ತಂ ಮಾರುತತುಲ್ಯ ವಿಕ್ರಮಃ
ಕ್ರಮೇಣ ಜಗ್ರಾಹ ಸಪಾದಯೋರ್ದೃಢಂ||47.34||

ಸ||ತತಃ ಮಾರುತಿತುಲ್ಯವಿಕ್ರಮಃ ಕಪಿಃ ಪತತ್ರಿ ರಾಜಾನಿಲಸಿದ್ಧಸೇವಿತೇ ಅಂಬರೇ ವಿಚರಂತಂ ತಂ ಸಮೇತ್ಯ ಕ್ರಮೇಣ ತಂ ಪಾದಯೋಃ ದೃಢಂ ಜಗ್ರಾಹ||

"Then the Vanara who is equal to wind in prowess, while flying in the abode of Garudas Siddhas and Vayu , reached him while flying and gradually caught his both feet firmly." ||47.34||

ಸ ತಂ ಸಮಾವಿಧ್ಯ ಸಹಶ್ರಸಃ ಕಪಿಃ
ಮಹೋರಗಂ ಗೃಹ್ಯ ಇವಾಂಡಜೇಶ್ವರಃ|
ಮುಮೋಚ ವೇಗಾತ್ ಪಿತೃತುಲ್ಯ ವಿಕ್ರಮೋ
ಮಹೀತಲೇ ಸಂಯತಿ ವಾನರೋತ್ತಮಃ||47.35||

ಸ|| ಪಿತೃತುಲ್ಯವಿಕ್ರಮಃ ವಾನರೋತ್ತಮಃ ಸಃ ಕಪಿಃ ಅಂಡಜೇಶ್ವರಃ ಮಹೋರಗಂ ಗೃಹ್ಯೈವ ತಂ ಸಂಯತಿ ಸಹಶ್ರಸಃ ಸಮಾವಿಧ್ಯ ವೇಗಾತ್ ಮಹೀತಲೇ ಮುಮೋಚ||

"The best of Vanaras , with prowess equal to his father, seized him just like the king of birds catches the serpents. Spinning him a thousand times and hitting him threw him speedily on the ground. " ||47.35||

ಸಭಗ್ನ ಬಾಹೂರುಕಟೀಶಿರೋಧರಃ
ಕ್ಷರನ್ನಸೃಜ್ನಿರ್ಮಥಿತಾಸ್ಥಿಲೋಚನಃ|
ಸಂಭಗ್ನಸಂಧಿಃ ಪ್ರವಿಕೀರ್ಣಬಂಧನೋ
ಹತಃ ಕ್ಷಿತೌ ವಾಯುಸುತೇನ ರಾಕ್ಷಸಃ||47.36||

ಸ|| ಸ ರಾಕ್ಷಸಃ ಭಗ್ನಬಾಹು ಉರು ಕಟೀ ಶಿರೋಧರಃ ಅಸೃಕ್ ಕ್ಷರನ್ ನಿರ್ಮಥಿತಾಸ್ಥಿಲೋಚನಃ ಸಂಭಗ್ನಸಂಧಿಃಪ್ರವಿಕೀರ್ಣಬಂಧನಃ ವಾಯುಸುತೇನ ಕ್ಷಿತೌ ಹತಃ||

"That Rakshasa with dislocated joints , with broken arms, thighs, hips and neck, with his eyes and bones protruded, with dripping blood , and the tendons strewn was killed by the son of wind god and fell on the ground." ||47.36||

ಮಹಾಕಪಿರ್ಭೂಮಿತಲೇ ನಿಪೀಡ್ಯ ತಂ
ಚಕಾರ ರಕ್ಷೋಧಿಪತೇರ್ಮಹತ್ ಭಯಮ್|
ಮಹರ್ಷಿಭಿಶ್ಚಕ್ರಚರೈರ್ಮಹಾವ್ರತೈಃ
ಸಮೇತ್ಯ ಭೂತೈಶ್ಚ ಸಯಕ್ಷಪನ್ನಗೈಃ||47.37||
ಸುರೇಶ್ಚಸೇಂದ್ರೈರ್ಭೃಶಜಾತ ವಿಸ್ಮಯೈಃ
ಹತೇ ಕುಮಾರೇ ಸ ಕಪಿರ್ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿತಃ|

ಸ|| ಮಹಾಕಪಿಃ ತಂ ಭೂಮಿತಲೇ ನಿಪೀಡ್ಯ ರಕ್ಷೋಧಿಪತೇಃ ಮಹತ್ ಭಯಂ ಚಕಾರ | ಕುಮಾರೇ ಹತೇ ಸಃ ಕಪಿಃ ಭೃಶಜಾತವಿಸ್ಮಯೈಃ ಚಕ್ರಚರೈಃ ಮಹಾವ್ರತೈಃ ಮಹರ್ಷಿಭಿಃ ಸ ಯಕ್ಷಪನ್ನಗೈಃ ಭೂತೈಶ್ಚ ಸ ಇಂದ್ರೈಃ ಸುರೈಶ್ಚ ಸಮೇತ್ಯ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿತಃ ||

"The great Vanara throwing him down onto the ground, the king of Rakshasas was struck with fear. With the prince killed , those who make rounds in sky , the sages who take great vows , the Yakshas , Pannagas, all beings including Indra collecting together were seeing the great Vanara with awe." ||47.37||

||Sloka 47.38||

ನಿಹತ್ಯ ತಂ ವಜ್ರಿಸುತೋಪಮಪ್ರಭಂ
ಕುಮಾರಮಕ್ಷಂ ಕ್ಷತಜೋಪಮೇಕ್ಷಣಮ್
ತಮೇವ ವೀರೋಭಿ ಜಗಾಮ ತೋರಣಂ
ಕೃತಃ ಕ್ಷಣಃ ಕಾಲ ಇವಾ ಪ್ರಜಾಕ್ಷಯೇ|| 47.38||

ಸ||ವೀರಃ ವಜ್ರಿಸುತೋಪಮಪ್ರಭಂ ಕ್ಷತಜೋಪಮೇಕ್ಷಣಂ ತಂ ಅಕ್ಷಂ ನಿಹತ್ಯ ಪ್ರಜಾಕ್ಷಯೇ ಕೃತಕ್ಷಣಃ ಕಾಲಃ ಇವ ತಂ ತೋರಣಮೇವ ಅಭಿಜಗಾಮ||

" Having killed that Aksha, who was radiant like teh son of Indra , who was with blood shot eyes, the hero went back to the archway like the god of death to destroy all beings." ||47.38||
